  12.   { PASS:  Appointments Scheduler }  must be installed on a hard drive.  Do
  13.   not attempt to install to, or run the program on, a floppy drive.

  15.   To install  { PASS:  Appointments Scheduler }, type:

  17.                  A:INSTALL <Enter>     or     B:INSTALL <Enter>
  18.  
  19.   There must be at least 1 MB of free space available on the target hard
  20.   drive or the install process will be incomplete, with indication of an
  21.   error and an exit to DOS.   After installation, the program uses about
  22.   580k of space.   The install process will create a directory on the
  23.   destination drive, the default selection being  \PASS.   The install
  24.   process does NOT modify your path, autoexec.bat, or config.sys.

  35.  │  moved to a diskette from which INSTALL.EXE is to be used,  as indicated │

  37.  │  you are installing to a *DIFFERENT* logical drive from the one in which │
  38.  │  INSTALL.EXE exists.  Do not attempt to install TO a floppy drive.       │

  42.   As an alternative to the installation process above, you may copy the
  43.   self-extracting file __005.EXE to the directory of your choice and simply
  44.   execute that file.  The files listed below should then be present in the
  45.   directory; you may then delete __005.EXE from the directory.  Use of the
  46.   INSTALL.EXE provides verification along with automatic installation
  47.   procedures and affords the user an opportunity to print out the documen-
  48.   tation.

  50.   After installation, read the documentation PASS.DOC for usage of the
  51.   program.   You will be given an option to print out the documentation
  52.   (about 10 pages) during installation.

  55.   After a new installation, the following 8 files must be present in the
  56.   \PASS directory for a complete installation:

  81. Possible problems with DOS 6.0
  82. ───────────────────────────────
  83. If you are using DOS 6.0 and are utilizing the  EMM386  memory  manager  that
  84. comes with DOS 6.0,  the potential for system lockups exists in running  this
  85. or other programs which use expanded memory.
  86.  
  87. If the user installs DOS 6 and uses the MEMMAKER utility to help load  things
  88. high it will ask if there are programs that  use  EMS.   If  you  answer  NO,
  89. MEMMAKER will add the NOEMS  parameter  to  the  EMM386  driver  line,  which
  90. increases the amount of high memory by 64K  (i.e.,  the size of the pageframe
  91. - nice if you have lots  of  drivers  to  load  high).   Unfortunately,  this
  92. parameter has a different meaning with DOS 6 than it did with DOS 5.

  94. If problems should occur and you are using the NOEMS parameter on the  EMM386
  95. line in your config.sys file, add the parameter NOVCPI after NOEMS.  Save the
  96. change and reboot.  It has  also been suggested that you might omit the NOEMS
  97. parameter altogether.   If problems persist, and you are using the FRAME=NONE
  98. switch, you should remove that parameter.
